BLACK AND WHITE
Eva's black and white series were her very first drawings after years of raising two families, going back to school and nursing. Black pen and ink on white paper were a medium she felt comfortable with, something she practiced while freelancing and parenting children. Her earlier black and white abstract art of stylized trees were influence by the therapy art named "Zentangle". The repetitive patterns and strokes became a pervasive element in her work. The fairy illustrations are reminiscent of the turn of the century black pen and ink illustrations of the day. These vintage illustrations are her inspiration for this fantasy art. Each one featured here is done with black micron pens on white paper with graphite pencil for added shading. She began in 2015 but completed the bulk of her work in 2018. Originals and giclee prints are available on this website's BLACK AND WHITE GALLERY.
